Transits

I have had many programs for astrology and love this easy to use app. Thank you I love the transit calendar the most!

Hi Guys … I was hoping this would be easy. Just put in a persons birthday and the program generates the natal chart and prints out the descriptions. So far that is not easy to do however there is documentation on how to work the program. I have read it and put in my birthdate, and it has a chart that is hard to discern even on a 21 inch iMac. As I am a novice I can only give it one star I am sorry to say. On Clifford’s blog it is purported that there is a ‘fortune’ aspect to the program but that eludes me completely, is not in the documentation that I can find and I am guessing it only involves charts. Oh, for me .. the email automatically goes to iMail and that is broken where I live. My Internet Service Provider will not support Apple (Mediacom is the national corporation) for any Apple product that I own. I just use the web browsers and download with them and that is it. As such there is no contacting iPhersis Support I am sorry to say. Even at Cliffords Web page there is no way to make contact there other then click on support and it goes to iMail that will not work in my situation. I am sorry I spent the money and for me it is total rip off as there is no refund. I want Clifford to take the software back. In my considered opinion this program is only for Astrology Experts who have studied Astrology professionally for decades. If you are like most people and need printed out explanations of where your sun sign is and in what house that you were born in for example this is not the program for you.

It’s a great app! Simplified, practical and obviously works perfectly. I would like to make three sugestions to improve even more this app. For my experience it is very very importante have a triplicities and quadruplicities showed close to the chart. Any experient astrologuer can check this quickly, for sure. But anyway is pretty helpful have this data on hands ready at the chart. Second the the signs disposal on chart wheel could follow the same color pattern for each triplicity. It is also helpful to have a clear charts fast reading. At last I would like to add the sugestion to make the chart wheel more visible than the aspects chart and give more space to it. Sometimes the personal data covers partially the wheel. It is not a issue but surely can make the app more visualy attractive. Anyway, the app is a great job! Keep improving it! Cheers from Brazil!

After purchasing the app for the phone and learning how to use it (I’m not too technically inclined), I chose iPhemeris for my mac. Love it. Simple, easy to use and accurate. I’m in the kindergarten stage of learning astrology. iPhemeris is perfect for my needs.

I am a beginner student of Astrology (1 year) I decided to buy this software to take my learning further. I am happy with the software, but there are a few things missing that I would enjoy. In brief though, it is a great way to create bi-wheels and to see how the current transits are interacting with your natal chart. Mac users have a limited option of astrology software, I recommend you fully research which one will achieve the results you need before deciding on buying one. The support on this software is excellent and responsive and they assure me the updates I request are comign soon. (moving the sky now forward and backwards). I feel that this software will be my main go to for sometime as other packages are almost twice the price.

This app is so amazing. I’ve been using it for years on my iPhone. When I found that they had a Mac version, I was thrilled. Its screens are easy to use and you can see more of what’s going on on the mac. I highly recommend this to anyone who is serious about their planets!

DavidEngel v2.2.2 · 10 years ago

Easy to use for a non professional. I love the way it syncs across devices. I sent an email to tech support when i was having issues syncing on my Macbook Pro, and i got a response in about 3 minutes that solved the issue. I have been using the program on my ipad and iphone for a while. After having tried several astrology programs and not really caring for any of them, i was really glad to find an easy to use program.

Warriorvamp · 11 years ago

After learining to cast charts by hand, I have used several programs, most with some bells and whistles that I didn’t need and/or with someone else’s interpretation, which I (politely) did not need or want. This program gives me the basics I need to cast and rectify, and while the transit seraches are not as nuanced as some, and I haven’t seen the “returns” feature that was advertised, (maybe it was intended to suggest that you can cast return and transit charts through the rectification process - which will work), it provides very nice capabilities for a reasonable price. And I have seen nothing even remotely close to it for Mac. I highly recommend it.

Old Time Hockey · 11 years ago

I am an amateur astrologer but this program has helped me create dozens of charts with ease. I DO wish that the program let me save charts in one PDF instead of a separate page for each, but utilizing the screenshot function on my computer is also pretty easy. I love that I can switch between house systems and add or remove any planets or other comets in a few seconds, and the program never slows down. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants to start experimenting with astrology withot investing in a $200 program.

I’ve had iPhemeris on my iPad for several years, and just purchased this bigger version for my iMac. I love having the ephemeris immediately available on my desktop; no other astrology program that I know of provides that. I love the expanded features. The chart wheels look beautiful — clean and elegant. My only problem is that I don’t understand how to change my house system. I make the selection in “Settings,” but when I return to the charts, it hasn’t taken effect. I changed a single chart in the iPad version from Placidus to Whole, and when I opened that chart on the Mac, the change seemed to have synced -- but now I can’t change it back again; and I still don’t see how to make the change apply to all my charts. I’m sure that that problem will soon be solved. Overall, I think this is a very fine, useful program, and I hope it keeps growing.

5 stars!

This app works very well. Charts are cast instantly. The app has nice features for making adjustments once the chart is cast.

Andy4/15 · 10 years ago

Excellent program overall. But it would be even better if the TIME the planetary aspects took place were added... Also, it would be better if it offered the NAIBOB secondary progressed ascendant and not just the progressed solar arc ascendant; otherwise you’re mixing the secondary and solar arc progression systems - which I’ve never seen done and do not recommend. (Alan Leo’s book on Progressions explains the calculations of the secondary progressed ascendant.)... And sometimes the transiting planets in the transit chart will fall in the wrong houses using the vedic whole houses setting. This might require that the chart houses be able to be automatically expanded when there are a great number of planets in it… I’m hoping these additions will be high on the list of priorities to take iPhemeris to the next level of usefulness and professionalism… And one last thought: a table indicating the VOID OF COURSE MOON would also be a big plus, as well as a table indicating the times of the EIGHT phases of the Moon and not just the four. In the meantime, the program is still helpful but less so on an iMac than, say, an iPod Touch or iPad. Best wishes, astrologer Haizen Paige (The Cosmic Palette), Sedona, AZ.

I was using Zet astrological software (needed Wine to run it)—then I went from Snow Loepard to El Capitan… Found this program and I’m very happy—it doesn’t do all that Zet could but it does two things Zet couldn’t do :-) I’d recommend this to any professional astrologer...

On The Use of Closed Source AI in ephemeris

It would be very nice if the new AI features could also have the option of using an Open Source LLM installed on the Mac, instead of having to pay forcefully for a closed LLM as OpenAI's where privacy issues are not necessarily maintained, albeit it costs money.

Best Software for Mac

I have been using AstroGold on my iPad to give my clients readings. I recently bought a Mac and purchased iPhemeris. Honestly, it is a great choice for an astrology software. It was a small learning curve coming to this from AstroGold, however, it didn’t take long to familiarize myself with it. I really enjoy the transit calendar, the ephemeris is easy to read and very accessible, and I love having so much control in the calculations and graphics with each chart! Great for intermediate and advance astrologers. I still give readings on my iPad while on the go, but I love having iPhemeris for my virtual sessions!

help bar no help

This program is not user friendly at all. Can't even find an icon to make a grid yet all the online help seems to think there should be one. When the help bar doesn't know what an aspect grid is, it makes you wonder if you got ripped off for a hundred bucks!

iPhemeris is Not for Beginners

I’m not computer-illiterate and I read the available information on the website before making my purchase. I was thus quite surprised to find that iPhemeris has a very steep learning curve. If you are not a professional astrologer, I would caution you to buy another program, as this one, with every bell and whistle imaginable, will definitely frustrate you. I reached out to Customer Support and while they responded quite rapidly, their arrogance and lack of helpfulness motivated me to ask for a refund from the Apple Store. My suggestion to iPhemeris: train your support people in customer relations because the support I received was abominable. I was lectured in an arrogant email which included words in ALL CAPS and I was provided a link to a singularly obscure and unhelpful vide on their website. Their documentation, while voluminous, assumes an advanced knowledge of astrological terms and did not help me. I’ll try to find a program that is more suitable for my level of knowledge.

Grateful For Such a Great Program

As a professional veteran astrologer, this app is simple to use and amazingly accurate. I recommend iPhemeris to all my students. I am one of those astrologers that cast charts by hand, no computers back then.

I wrote about the time change being incorrect, with the advice of a reply from someone I was able to go into the program and fix it. My review wasn't negative, it is a good program, but it helps knowing a little more of what to expect. I love this program and am working with it. Nothing is perfect but it comes close. Working with DST in Virginia in 1941 according to Doanes book there was none. having problems correcting to DST. Still love this program.

No support

I tolerated the substandard filing system but when I asked for support repeatedly I was just told to read the directions, which did not answer my questions. I told them I am visually impaired and need help but they just blew me off. No support - you're on your own. Good luck. I'm looking for a better program from a developer with more skill and a better attitude.

Wish it Actually worked.

There is no way to enter dates or charts for various people. On my MacBook Air, it is not useable. Have been very disappointed to have wasted $99 on one that does not have useable function and reports to work with. Wish I had gotten the cheaper version first so I would have known it was not worth the price. Had been under the impression the reports required the $99 version which I have found unsuable, so would not recommend at this time.

Iphemeris is great: please add more minor aspects.

Great app and easy to learn how to use. I would love it to have more minor aspects in their full series, like the vigintiles, Quindeciles, Undeciles, Triseptile (complete the septile series). I have a number of pro astrologer friends who would also love to see these aspects added. It would also be helpful to be able to use a checkbox to turn on/off the aspects list instead of having to add/ remove all the orbs of influence. We would be so grateful and give it 5 stars!

Phi Phiona · 2 years ago

Love it!

Takes a little time to learn it, once you do it is super accurate and effective- use this program to find lunar returns, solar returns, and progressions. Highly recommend!

TammyLovesCountry · 2 years ago

Not Very Flexible

This program does the nuts and bolts of chart calculations, composites, returns. You cannot change the "order" (changing the primary chart) of two charts without completely closing out both charts and re-opening both. Also, you can't open "Now" and save it. You need to choose the date and time that you want and create a new chart in order for it to be saved. I had a program called IO Edition for years and it was very flexible. My last computer died and the service couldn't recover everything, so I had to start over. If I recall, IO Edition isn't in business any longer and I had to find a new provider. It gets me what I need, but it is a flawed product.

Linda In Maui

I use the horary sky now. I can barely read the planets and never the degrees...

Naallehu · 2 years ago

Mostly complete and accurate

I use more out of curisoity. The ephemeris is excellent, chart layout clean and engaging, aspect orbs provides detailed controls. The dual chart GRID A&S functions are difficult to easily understand because the approaching and waining orbs are not clearly marked with an Rx without toggling back and forth to the Ephemeris to view whether a planet is Rx or not. Otherwise, a well designed and functional astro application. Kudos

Excellent, Simple App

Been using iPhemeris for a few years now and it's still my goto app for everyday chart reading. Its simple, straightforward and just gets right to the most essential things without much clutter. Its the first app I recommend to folks who are learning! That said, it would be great if some more traditional astrological features were added. So many folks are being brought up these days with ancient tools, and incorporating some of that in a more first-class way would be great. For example: - Including more lots than just the Part of Fortune, which would be very easy to do. - Including an option to show the Dodekatamoria as another biwheel layer - Ability to quickly see triplicity lords Including each of the above would instantly make the app more useful, as each of the above three are the primary tools for looking deeper into a chart (especially the lots). The only other thing I can think of is a couple bugs: - Very frequenly the current scroll position in the chart list sidebar is lost when performing various actions - Sometimes context menu actions (like delete) dont work or become buggy. All in all though, great app.

Pretty good application

This is a good app for my chart reading (being Siderreal Lahiri). Does that perfectly with equal houses. Customizable colors and clear white background make for really good printed charts and clear interpretation. There are two requests I have for the developer though. 1) SkyNow needs to be able to operate with custom colors AND a black background. I use my other app AstroClock because it has a black background. Staring at SkyNow with a white background a glaring white color hor hours on end does not work for me. So it needs to have a option for a black background. 2) I would like to see a side by side wheel option for charts and then skynow -- without the adjustment of the current model being Chart Now which adjusts the house positions of one of the bi-wheel charts. Side by side would fit better for looking at a chart and then the sky now with the houses being in the correct position. Otherwidse the app works pretty much perfectly.

Doug Brehm · 3 years ago

Well Worth the Price

This app is so good. So many options. With the opportunity to buy extras in the app. There's so much information - so good. BUT I will say that I don't think it's good for beginners in astrology who are trying to learn about it unless you have a book you're reading or something else. This is for working with astrology.

Thinks like me!

I put off replacing my old software and finally tried yours. I was astonished at how easy and thorough it is to use and, even more importantly, that it thinks the way I do.

Jim Shere · 4 years ago

Please add this feature!

I would appreciate if there were a feature that would allow us to pick a point anywhere on the ecliptic and see which aspects the planets form with the chosen point.

Challenges with Ease of Use

For decades I used Matrix software that had many ways to explore a chart{s}, was easy to use by those who didn't have a lot tech skills or experience. (Those Matrix programs were designed back in the 1990s when most people were new the world of computers.) This program requires one to be a lot more tech savvy so can be a bit frustrating for some "old timers". It assumes users have technical skills that they may not have. It's designed for a younger generation for whom computer knowledge is as familiar as using a knife and fork. The designer was not interested in creating a program to be a learning insturment; he created a program for astrologers to use to cast charts and play with aspects with the assumption that that was all the user was going to need. No negative criticism intended; of course the designer wouldn't want to create a program bloated with a lot of info the majority of user would find superflous. But for those who with fewer technical skills, the program will be frustrating and require a lot of learning time.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

This was the best investment in a while for me. I am a professional Astrologist and I find this program to be a true lifesaver. I have a Macbook and there aren't alot of Astrology software programs out there for Mac users. I google searched and was led to iPhemeris. I was hesitant at first to buy due to the negative reviews and responses to those reviews. But as time went on, I ended up folding and purchasing this app and I am sooooo happy I did, wow!!!!!! This app has increased my productivity times 1000. I'm able to get readings done quicker and I even added a service to my website due to a few really cool features! I really dont know who would give a negative review about this app, i'm really confused by that because this app is everything. ~Signed a Professional Astrologist

My New Go To Astro App

Hands down, dollar for dollar, this is the best astrology app that I've found available for Mac OS. With it's simple, clean and elegant interface, just the right amount of customization, and all the tools, bells and whistles an astrologer could ask for, from the novice to the professional, IPhemeris delivers. My one simple request would be to add the ability to create folders within the Charts pane. This would allow me to oraganize my 100s of charts in personalized and useful ways. It would also provide a level of privacy, as I often do screen sharing when I'm doing reading for clients over Zoom. The ability to keep charts tucked into folders when opening and closing the Charts pane would be a great help. So if you're reading this Clifford, please consider adding that functiionality to the next update. Keep up the good work, and thank you for creating this amazing app!

I really like this software

I really like iPhemeris. It covers the vast majority of my needs, and I have a stack of books on my desk to cover many of the others. I've bought all the available extras, as well, because this suits my needs as an intermediate astrologer who is gradually going professional. Features I like a lot: - the built-in Ephemeris, and the graphic ephemeris (costs extra). - The ability to compare three charts simultaneously, either side-by-side (max 2 charts) or nexted (2 charts now, to look at transits). - the ability to store charts that work on my phone. - the ability to track transits over different time scales (minute, 10 minutes, hour, day, 7 days, month, year) - the choice of house system - the ability to turn various planets on and off - the ability to adjust orb sizes. - handles up to three charts simultaneously - great database for storing charts - built-in notes feature for storing info about consultations. Features I would like in future versions: - buttons to turn on/off for Moon Mansions, Decans, 12th parts of Zodiac signs, and Bounds/Terms (Egyptian, Ptolemaic, Egyptian) - Automatic calculation of Hygromanteia Moon-Day number - Automatic calculation on "Sky Now" chart of Astrological Hour - The ability to set phone alarms for specific times for electional astrology - A way to enter horary chart question and time - A field in the chart database for including birth time data quality rating (AAA, AA, A, B, C, D) and a source.

Customer Support Is Not the Best

Recently, I upgraded my iMac HD from a 3.12T HD to a 14T HD and RAM as well. Upon getting the Big Sur OS system downloaded onto my computer, which was literally a nightmare that took 8 days, since I transferred the Apps from my old HD to my New HD, was painful. I discovered through this journey that many apps did not work with Big Sur OS. When I downloaded iPhemeris, I discovered that I could not cast charts. I subsequently discovered that I had lost hundreds of cast charts because I did not know that I could save my charts to iCloud through settings. So I lost those forever. But, in the meantime, I have a spreadsheet of data that I wanted to re-enter into the iPhemeris app. And here is where things are not good with Customer Support. Over the last couple of weeks when I've requested help, (being a savvy computer expert at a decent level of comprehension), the customer service has not been helpful to find a solution to why I cannot cast a chart nor save it within the app. They've found numerous reasons why it's my fault without taking responsibility to the fact that there may be something wrong (which neither of us can seem to find) as I have followed through with their precise and not so precise instructions on getting them data from my computer. With that said, today was the straw that broke the camels back for me with a bit of pretention with the customer support person (who has managed not to share their name with me) who continues to insult my intelligence. They have not offered a solution nor good ways to get them data when they send emails. I'm not happy. I love the software, I want to use it. And I'm completely baffled that iPhemeris customer support is failing miserably at keeping their customers happy. I simply want a solution. I do not deserve nor agree with the type of denigration to my intelligence takes place when there is a problem with the app not working nor saving data at this time. I certainly hope I can give a better rating in the future. But as of today, Friday, April 2nd, 2021, there is still no resolution that they insist is my fault when I know that it is not my fault why iPhemeris app will not save data within its app. If anyone else has had this problem, I would ask that you please join in this conversation to bring to light what your problem is and if your problem was solved by this team or person or someone who appears not to have any kind of people person skills on finding solutions to solve a problem that, in my professional opinion is an app issue. WHATEVER that issue is. Thank you.

overall great but translation need to be improved

It's beautiful and easy to read. The price is affordable. iPhone version need to pay seperately which is weird, but the overall price is okay. It contains most of the function I need. Highly recommended. Some translation in Madarin version is weird so I switched back to English version. For instance, "house" is translated into "房子" but "宮位". It's better to have someone who know both languages and astrology to help check the translation. For regression it'll be great to add "Saturn return" and "Jupitar return" function. Especially the Saturn one. Thanks!!

The Big Bang (pun intended!) for your buck!!!

iPhemeris is a wonderful astrology application. Given the competition, I really believe this is a brilliant companion for any student or professional astrologer. Lots of tools and functionalities that are exceptional, and the charts are composed exceptionally well. I genuinely believe iPhemeris produces the most strikingly beautiful horoscopes compared to other astrology software, and you honestly cannot beat the price point. With that said, there are always more features that could be added that I hope will come to fruition in later versions, and if that involves an extra in-app purchase, I'm all for it. Some features I'd personally love to see are: Lunar phases listed for charts, Aspect patterns/shapes listed for charts, Toggle on/off for aspect angles without having to change/delete the orb for an angle, the ablitiy to export charts electronically on Mac without having to print or use the iPhone versoin, and when printing/exporting a chart, combining the aspect grid and points (elements, modalities, dignities) with the horoscope on the same page OR making the grid, aspects, points, midpoints use only one page. (If there's a way to make this happen that I'm not aware of, I'd love to know it.) A big shout out to the developer of iPhemeris for creating such a beautiful and user-friendly application! I look forward to seeing later iterations.

It's great!

The lack of interpretations in this software is a distinction. I much prefer to work without that distraction. The transit time buttons are easy to use and make iPhemeris extremely useful. I shopped around for software before purchasing and I am so happy with the value and application iPhemeris has provided. The only thing missing IMO is a geo astrology mapping function.

nikki1776 · 6 years ago

Tranist Calendar is Useless

I printed the Transit Calendar and started going through it. For the outer planets, the aspects show up for weeks and there’s no way to find out when they are exact. The inner planets tend ot be a day or two off. You litereally have to look up each one in an ephemeris to check it. This defeats the purpose of purchasing an application.

YBOrdinary · 6 years ago

Love it, and great customer service

I am really happy with this program. It delivers a ton of features in a simple, clean style. It's perfect for my moderatly-educated, definitely-not-a-pro astrology skills. I did experience a minor glitch (reduced text size in the empheris tables), but that was very quickly resolved. The developer's promptness and support was impressive. Highly recommend.

A great astrology tool

I have been doing professional astrology since 2005, and I got started with WinStar programs for Windows. Compared to professional astrology software, iPhemeris is good but not great. However that is because I am used to having access to Astro-Cartography and Local Space lines, Lilly's Planetary Strengths, etc. With that said, iPhemeris allows me to complete 98% of what I need for most clients! And it is very reasonable compared to the $200 price tags of hefty astrology programs. Thank you for creating this handy, easy to use program!

Aesthetically Pleasing But Mediocre Elsewhere

The glyphs, signs, and chart designs are even better than some of the more costly astrology software that is readily available. However, I would like to see more features added to this software. I understand this is geared towards beginner / casual students of astrology but I would like to see (maybe in a purchase form) more traditional tools added like the tables of Essential Dignities and Debilities, and others more in-depth tools. Keep up the appearance but add more substance.
